School counselors strive to meet the personal, social, and academic needs of students by collaborating with teachers, staff, and families to support students. It is Ms. Bensinger's goal to build rapport and establish positive relationships in order to enhance each student's school experience.
During most the 2016-17 school year, Ms. Bensinger will most likely be accompanied SSD Armstrong, a yellow labrador retriever. Ms. Bensinger is a puppy raiser for Susquehanna Service Dogs and is responsible for socializing Armstrong to various settings. At approximately 18 months of age, Armstrong will attend his advance training when he will learn specific tasks to assist individuals with disabilities so that they may lead more independent lives. If you see Armstrong with Ms. Bensinger, it is important that you ask permission to pet him as he is most likely working and needs to stay focused on his handler and the task he was given.
Ms. Bensinger has lived in our school district for over 25 years and her two children have attended the Red Lion schools. In her spare time, Ms. Bensinger enjoys sports, baking, tie-dying, and Zumba.
